I'm sure you've already seen this video online, because if you haven't you are a bit behind the web videos. I've had some interesting discussions with people about Patti's actions, some say she was totally wrong to stop the show and that its more professional to just keep going and discuss it with Stage Management and others who say that Patti is a star and can get away with anything especially in this show which she is praised.
I'm torn between the two, I think that Patti is genius in Gypsy and I hope her performance will be recorded for PBS (like company was with Raul Esparza). If you were Ensemble member, it wouldn't work to stop the show, but for Patti to do it, its so in character for her, and for Rose to do it at this point of the show. Had she actually done it in character, would be crazy. But I think in this scenario, I'm totally on her side (even though I've heard people say that the person taking pictures was with the production and not an audience member - and that Patti got in trouble for stopping the show afterwards)
She's Patti and no one could touch her in this role. If you didn't get a chance to see it, then that really sucks. But you can hope for a taping/release on PBS sometime soon.
